The summer transfer window is approaching fast and while the dates for the window have not been announced yet, the Premier League is slated to finish on Sunday, May 23 which may imply that the transfer window is most likely to reopen on Monday, June 1.

Top clubs across Europe are still looking to boost their squad ahead of the new season, and clear out their wage bill as well. With that in mind, here's a look at the latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Mourinho sacked by Spurs

Jose Mourinho was let go by Tottenham earlier today, following a run of dismal results that saw the north London side drop out of the title race, and find themselves struggling to push for a top-four finish.

"Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a club," said Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. "Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic. On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged. He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution."

Chelsea monitor Bayern star

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring a move for Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule, according to The Athletic.

Frank Lampard was keen on bringing the German to Stamford Bridge during his time at the club, and new boss Thomas Tuchel is ready to rekindle that interest in a bid to bolster his backline. The 25-year-old has just one year left on his existing contract, and no talks have been held over a new one, just yet. Bayern have already signed Dayot Upamenaco from RB Leipzig for next season which has put Sule’s place in the first team further in doubt.

Pochettino hopeful on Mbappe deal

Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he is hopeful that Kylian Mbappe will sign a new deal with the club. Mbappe is out of contract in 2022, and has been long-linked with a switch to Real Madrid.

Speaking about Mbappe’s future, Pochettino told Canal+: “I am an optimist, and I hope that the best players at the club, in this case Kylian, will stay here.” (h/t beIN Sports) Mbappe has been on fire for PSG this season, scoring 23 in 28 appearances Ligue 1 this season, as well as a further eight in the Champions League to help his side reach the semi-finals.

Inter still keen on Dzeko

Inter are reportedly still keen on signing Roma striker Edin Dzeko, according to Calcio Mercato.

Antonio Conte's side tried to sign the former Manchester City man last summer, but he ended up staying at Stadio Olimpico until the end of the season. Dzeko is set to become a free agent at the end of June, with Inter poised to offer him a contract.
