The winter transfer window is shut, but transfer rumours are still making the rounds ahead of the summer. The dates for the summer transfer window have not been announced yet, but with the Premier League slated to finish on Sunday, May 23, the transfer window is most likely to reopen on Monday, June 1.

Clubs everywhere are still looking to boost their squad ahead of the new season, and clear out their wage bill as well. With that in mind, here's a look at the latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Man City lower Messi contract offer

Manchester City have reportedly lowered their contract offer to Barcelona star Lionel Messi, according to The Sun.

Pep Guardiola's side were originally offering Messi a £600m deal, but have lowered it to £430m because of the current financial climate. The Argentine is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, and looks set to leave Camp Nou, with Paris Saint-Germain also interested in signing him.

Eriksen came close to Spurs return in January

Christian Eriksen reportedly came close to making a switch back to Tottenham in the summer, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

However, the deal fell through because Spurs refused to pay Inter's asking loan fee for the Danish international. Eriksen moved to Inter from Tottenham in January 2019, and has since scored five goals in 45 games for the Italian giants.

Chelsea target 'Gladbach star

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Borussia Monchengladbach star Jonas Hofmann, according to Bild. New boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on linking up with his former player, who he worked with at Dortmund.

The report claims there has been contact between Tuchel and Hofmann, with the 28-year-old potentially keen on a fresh challenge after five years at Gladbach.

Juve to rival Barca for Depay

Juventus are reportedly planning to battle Barcelona for Lyon striker Memphis Depay, according to Todofichajes.

Depay's current contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and he has previously expressed a desire to leave Lyon for another challenge.

Sevilla set sights on Minamino

Sevilla are reportedly planning to make a swoop for Liverpool forward, Takumi Minamino in the summer, according to Fichajes. The Japanese international is currently on loan at Southampton until the end of the season, and the LaLiga side believe his lack of playing time under Jurgen Klopp could motivate the player to make a permanent switch ahead of the next season.
