The report adds that the Argentine is reportedly eyeing a potential return to Benfica, where he previously played between 2007 and 2010.
Three clubs chase Alexander Isak
Barcelona have reportedly joined Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad, according to El Nacional.
The report claims the LaLiga giants view the 22-year-old as an ideal alternative to Erling Haaland, who looks to be joining Manchester City in the summer. However, Xavi's side will face tough competition from Arsenal and United who are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Roma plot Dest swoop
Roma are reportedly plotting a swoop for Barcelona defender Sergino Dest, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The USMNT international could be on his way out of the club this summer as the LaLiga giants look to reduce their wage bill. The report adds that Dest will welcome a move to Roma owning to his admiration for current boss Jose Mourinho.
