The summer transfer window is approaching fast and as the Premier League is slated to finish on Sunday, May 23, the transfer window is most likely to reopen on Monday, June 1.

Top clubs across Europe are still looking to boost their squad ahead of the new season, and clear out their wage bill as well.

With that in mind, here's a look at the latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Messi to take pay cut

Lionel Messi is reportedly willing to take a pay cut if it helps Barcelona bring in Erling Haaland in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Eurosport Spain, the Argentine has informed president Joan Laporta of his decision and is ready to renew his contract at reduced terms, provided those funds are then allocated to bringing in necessary signings in the summer. The report states that Laporta has assured Messi that the club are set to begin talks with Borussia Dortmund for Haaland.

Barca contact PSG over Neymar transfer

Barcelona have reportedly made initial contact with Paris Saint-Germain over a move for Neymar ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Spanish news outlet RAC1 (h/t SPORT), the 29-year-old has been identified as the number one target for Ronald Koeman's this summer over Borussia Dortmund star, Erling Haaland. The report adds that Neymar is desperate for a return to Barcelona and will not demand any exorbitant salaries which could scupper a move.

Pochettino unclear over Mbappe future

Mauricio Pochettino has cast a shadow of doubt over Kylian Mbappe's future at Paris Saint-Germain if the club fail to lift the Champions League trophy this season.

A number of clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, who has just over a year left on his current deal. "It's a question for Kylian and not for me. We lost a game but there is still the return leg and weird things can happen in the Champions League," the coach said.

Liverpool continue to monitor Sancho

Liverpool are reportedly still interested in signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. But according to German outlet Bild, their hopes of landing the England international rest on the club securing a place in the Champions League.

The report adds that Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of the winger, who he thinks, fits Liverpool’s transfer parameters, but everything rests on whether Liverpool can get into the top four.
