Indian Super League's latest installment came to a close on Saturday night as Mumbai City FC beat ATK Mohun Bagan to become the new champions of India.
This season saw some of the best goal-scorers ever seen in the history of the competition, both Indian and foreign and today we take a look at the 5 Indian players who scored the most goals throughout the ISL 2020-21 season.
1. Sunil Chhetri
Least surprising name to top this list, Bengaluru FC and Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri scored eight goals and also provided two assists for the former ISL champions.
Bengaluru FC had an underwhelming campaign according to their standards but Chhetri remained the constant genius in their squad.
2. Bipin Singh
Bipin Singh probably came up with the most iconic moment of this season's Indian Super League by scoring the winning goal in the final against ATK Mohun Bagan.
Moreover, he is the only player in all of the ISL this season to have scored a hat-trick.
He scored six goals and provided four assists, putting him equal with Sunil Chhetri in terms of goal contributions.
3. Manvir Singh
Another Indian youngster who had a fine season, Manvir Singh played a crucial role in helping ATK Mohun Bagan reach the final of the ISL.
Singh scored some spectacular goals courtesy of his quick feet and incredible pace and created major headache for opponent full-backs.
He scored six goals for the Mariners and provided three assists in what was his best return in the ISL till date.
4. Ishan Pandita
The best youngster in this season's ISL was undoubtedly Ishan Pandita who, despite not getting many chances, proved to be the best player in FC Goa's squad most number of times.
Pandita netted four goals for FC Goa despite being on the pitch just for 131 minutes in total in the ISL 2020-21.
5. Halicharan Narzary
Narzary was one of Hyderabad FC’s best players this season, especially in the first half of the ISL campaign in which he came up with incredible performances.
He scored more goals (4) than any other Indian player from Hyderabad.
