Manchester United superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo took to social networking site, Instagram following the Red Devils 5-0 routing at the hands of Liverpool to once again "hail the fans" while revealing that it is time for the team to "deliver".

United were trailing by five goals within 50 minutes of the Premier League clash at Old Trafford, with Mohamed Salah scoring a hat-trick and Naby Keita and Diogo Jota getting a goal each. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have not won in four games in the Premier League and Ronaldo has called on his team-mates to "step up" and "deliver".

"Sometimes the result is not the one we fight for. Sometimes the score is not the one we want. And this is on us, only on us, because there’s no one else to blame. Our fans were, once again, amazing in their constant support. They deserve better than this, much better, and it’s up to us to deliver," he wrote on Instagram.

"The time is now!"

The Red Devils looked all at sea in front of a Liverpool side who run them ragged especially in the first 50 minutes of the game and the loss on the night meant that they slipped to seventh in the Premier League table with 14 points from nine games - level on points with Everton, Leicester City and Arsenal.
