Sunil Chhetri Moves Second in Active International Goalscorers List as India Beat Bangladesh 2-0

Sunil Chhetri bagged a brace that took him to second in the list of active international goalscorers as India beat Bangladesh 2-0 in the World Cup and Asian Cup joint qualifier on Monday.
Chhetri has now scored 74 international goals, and among the active footballers, only Cristiano Ronaldo has more goals to his name, with the Portugal captain having amassed a staggering 103 goals for his national team.
Meanwhile, despite dominating the possession against Bangladesh, India had to wait until the 79th minute to break the deadlock. Ashique Kuruniyan delivered a cross from the left, and Chhetri headed into the net from close range.
Chhetri then sealed India's win in the second minute of the injury time with a wonderful finish, as he curled into the top corner from inside the box.
With the victory, India kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, and the Blue Tigers also leapfrogged Afghanistan, who have played a game less, to third in the Group E points table.
India face Afghanistan on 15th June in their final game of the group stage, and Igor Stimac's side will be hoping to get the better of their neighbours and seal a place in the next edition of the AFC Asian Cup.
