Sevilla goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou has hailed Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi, going on to lavish praise on the record six-time Ballon d'Or award winner by revealing that, "the Argentinian is on a completely different level".
Bounou has come across Messi six times during his career, losing only three times drawing on two occasions, and even coming up victorious once (Sevilla 2-0, CDR 20/21 semis first leg). In fact, the Moroccan goalkeeper has a pretty impressive record against the striker, conceding just four goals in six appearances, which is more than what most goalkeepers can claim.
The 33-year-old has established himself as arguably the greatest player in the history of the sport, and Bounou believes so too.
“Messi is on a completely different level, he has been the best for many years, and is the an exceptional player in this era of the sport," he said in an interview with Goal.
Lionel Messi has insisted that Argentina have never been overly dependent on him and believes his side is currently "on the right track" ahead of Copa America.

Antoine Griezmann heaped praises on his Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi, and brushed off claims of a rift.
The 30-year-old is not the elite goalkeeper in LaLiga to lavish praise on Messi as the 2020/21 Player of the Season and Atletico Madrid star, Jan Oblak too has praised the Argentinian on multiple occasions in the past, claiming that, "Messi is still the best player in the world.”
The players future in Spain has been a source of speculation throughout the recently concluded season, with Messi's contract expiring at the end of June and that he is yet to agree to new terms with Barcelona.
He has been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, though the man himself has remained mum on his future.
