Club president Joan Laporta is eager to kickstart his revolution project of the first-team squad, and according to reports, Aguero and Memphis Depay are set to spearhead his project.
Renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano tweeted that both Aguero and Depay have been offered contracts by the LaLiga giants. He claims that the City striker has been offered a contract until June 2023 and his salary reduced to below €10m per year, and Depay is also set to be offered terms until either 2023 or 2024.
The report by The Guardian also claims that Aguero will receive an additional bonus if the Catalan giants win the Champions League during his stay at the club. While player exits and transfers are being planned, Barca boss Ronald Koeman has admitted he has not been supported by the club's board as he continues to be in the dark over his future.
"You need to respect your coach and players more," said Koeman ahead of his side's trip to Eibar. "In the last part of the season I've not felt the support of the club. We've not spoken about the future. There's been times when I've had to be a spokesman for the club and that should be noted."
