Former Real Madrid and Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has named Cristiano Ronaldo as the best he has ever played with.

Khedira, who announced his retirement from football in May, has played alongside a plethora of elite footballers during his illustrious career.

Khedira spent more than 10 years of his career across two of the best clubs in the world in Real Madrid and Juventus, and he was also a German international from 2009 to 2018. So, it's easy to guess that he has shared dressing room with some of the biggest names in the business, and it is Ronaldo who he considers as the best of the lot.

Ronaldo was at Real Madrid when Khedira arrived at the Spanish side in 2010, and the two were teammates for five seasons until the German joined Juventus on a free transfer in 2015. They would later reunite when Ronaldo left Los Blancos for Old Lady in the summer of 2018. The two continued to be teammates until Khedira, frozen out by Andrea Pirlo, moved to Hertha Berlin in February this year.

Asked by Marca if Ronaldo is the best he has ever played with, Khedira said the Portuguese superstar is, while also remarking he has also had Gianluigi Buffon and Iker Casillas, two 'legends of football, Sergio Ramos, 'one of the best centre-backs of all time', and Mesut Ozil as his teammates.

He said: "Yes [Ronaldo is the best I've ever played with], he is an incredible goal scorer. His goals and his numbers say it all.

"But I have also had incredible goalkeepers like Gigi Buffon and Iker Casillas, who are legends of football. Buffon is also one of the best people I have met in the world of football, it is incredible what a good guy he is.

"I've played with Ramos, one of the best centre-backs in the world and of all time. And Ozil's three years at Madrid? Let people take those three years and review what he did and how he played football. What Mesut did at Madrid was wonderful, the best I've ever seen."
