Ronald Koeman has confessed his desire to stay at FC Barcelona for 'many years'.

Koeman has been Barcelona's manager ever since he was appointed ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The Dutch tactician could only guide the Catalan outfit to a third-place finish in La Liga in his first season as the Barcelona manager. Rumours had it that Barca could look to replace Koeman before the 21/22 campaign, but the former Netherlands manager eventually retained his position.

Koeman's task on hand is very challenging as he has been entrusted to usher in a new era at Barcelona following the departure of club legend Lionel Messi in the summer.

Koeman is optimistic he can see the club through the difficult moments, and hopes to continues as Barca manager for 'many years'.

"Yes, of course, I am open to renewal. I am very excited to continue as Barca coach for many years, despite the difficult moments at the club today," the Barcelona coach told Sport [via Goal].

The 58-year-old added: "But I think that thanks to our decisions, coach and technical staff, Barca has young players with a huge immediate future and hopefully within three, four or five years I can continue to be their coach."
