Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has picked his EA Sports FIFA Team of the Year, but no player from the Red Devils has made the cut.

Ferdinand also snubbed FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi, while his former team-mate and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo was included in the XI which is mainly made up of Bayern Munich and Liverpool players.

Ferdinand's decision to not include Bruno Fernandes in the team also came as a surprise to many, with the Portuguese midfielder having been in excellent form for Man United, who sit top of the Premier League points table.

The former England centre-back chose Liverpool's Alisson between the sticks, while he picked Virgil Van Dijk and Sergio Ramos for the centre-back positions. He went for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies as full-backs in this XI.

His three midfield picks were Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne, Liverpool's Thiago Alcantara and Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich.

In attack, he put Ronaldo as left winger, while Sadio Mane was his choice for the right winger position. In the striker role, it was Robert Lewandowski, who has been in terrific form for Bayern Munich.

Here's Ferdinand's EA Sports FUT XI:
