Atletico Madrid striker, Luis Surez could be set for a sensational return to Liverpool in the summer if Mohamed Salah does leave the Reds with Spanish website, Fichajes reporting that the club could welcome their former star if a situation does arise.

Salah has been linked with a move away from Anfield in the recent past and even stated earlier in the year that he would be open to playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future. Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also though to be interested in his signing, but it is unlikely that Liverpool would let him leave without a fight.

There is no indication that Salah is looking to leave the club anytime soon, but if they do not qualify for the Champions League next season, the Egyptian might just decide to look for greener pastures come the summer.

If this does happen, then the Reds would look to bring back Suarez who was a talismanic figure for them during his time at Anfield, netting 82 goals in 133 appearances but his age and wage demands does not look like it would fit the FSG model of signings.

It will be interesting to see how this situation pans out considering that Salah would cost a high transfer fee and would be out of reach for most of the clubs due to the financial impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
