Real Madrid had quite a topsy-turvy 2021 that eventually led to them being reunited with their former coach Carlo Ancelotti.

This appointment led to their resurgence in La Liga this season.

Ancelotti set things straight at the club and we got to see some impressive performances throughout the ongoing season.

Brazilian sensation Vinicius Jr has been the shining ray of light at Real Madrid throughout the year.

This season especially, the youngster has been the main source of goals for Los Blancos as the future at Madrid looks very strong and sustainable.

2. Karim Benzema

Benzema, without doubt, has been the best striker in Europe in the calendar year 2021.

The Frenchman finished fourth in the Ballon d'Or ranking this year.

Talking about the 2021-22 season, Benzema has already scored 15 goals and provided seven assists, thus leading him on his way to probably his best ever season with Real Madrid.

3. Eder Militao

Ancelotti showed faith in Eder and played him as centre-back following Raphael Varane's departure to Manchester United.

This decision paid off brilliantly as Militao has shown what he is capable of in the last 12 months.

Real Madrid have kept 11 clean sheets in 18 La Liga games this season with Militao and Alaba in central-defence.

4. Luka Modric

The Ballon d'Or winner has been ever-present in Real Madrid's midfield this year too.

Speaking specifically of this season, Modric has assisted four goals in 12 games for Los Blancos and has provided his trademark balance to Ancelotti's squad in midfield.
