Cristiano Ronaldo has once again been linked with a transfer back to Real Madrid.

Despite moving to Juventus almost three years back, Ronaldo's absence is still felt in the Los Blancos squad.

Ronaldo helped Madrid to four Champions League crowns, including three of those title wins in a row. Since his departure, Zidane's side has not been able to replicate their European success that they cherished when Ronaldo was at the club.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo himself has been struggling at Juventus despite a great goalscoring record as he has not managed to win the Champions League with the Italian side. This season, he will in all probability miss out on the Serie A title too.

Thus, a reunion between Real Madrid and Ronaldo could still be considered as a pretty doable deal.

According to Diario Gol (via TuttoJuve), Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane would be in favor of Ronaldo’s return next summer. But, the report claims that club president Florentino Perez would be against this move as he tries to pursue Kylian Mbappe.

Ronaldo's contract at Juventus runs out after the end of the 2021-22 season and it does not look like he will be affordable to many top clubs considering his wage demands to be 31 million euros per season net.

There is no doubt that such reports should always be taken with a pinch of salt as Real Madrid have been proving in the transfer market that they will only pursue younger talents going forward.
