Real Madrid are expecting Manchester United to renew their interest in Raphale Varane in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The Red Devils are expected to bolster the defensive department by adding a new centre-back in the summer, and Varane is said to be one of the names they are considering for the position.

The French international is one of the best centre-backs in the world and has been a crucial player for Real Madrid. However, the 27-year-old's current contract with the Spanish giants expires at the end of the next season, and an agreement over extending it has not reached yet.

Real Madrid risk losing Varane on a free transfer in 2022 if he doesn't agree to a contract renewal in the coming months, and, as a result, they could look to cash in on the defender, who will certainly be never short of suitors.

The Daily Telegraph [via Sky Sports] claims Madrid expect Man United to renew their interest in Varane in the summer.

The Red Devils were linked with a move for Varane several times in the past, and they could finally land the highly-rated defender in the upcoming summer. It will be interesting to see how this pans out and whether Man United will finally sign Varane.
