Cristiano Ronaldo has scored six match-winning goals for Manchester United this season, the same as Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who is also the Premier League's top scorer this season.

Ronaldo reinforced his importance to United after scoring a brilliant hat-trick to help his side beat Tottenham 3-2 on Saturday.

In the process, the 37-year-old became the top scorer in the history of professional football, passing Josef Bican’s previous record of 805 career goals.

Harry Kane also scored for Spurs but unable to inspire his side to a win.

Ronaldo, Salah, and Kane have played important roles for their teams this season, but according to Transfermarkt, Kane has the most impressive record out of the three.

The Englishman has scored 48 match-winning goals in the Premier League, and is joint-fifth with former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

Ronaldo ranks 16th with 37 match-winning goals, while Salah sits 24th with 34 match-winning goals to his game.

However, it is legendary striker Alan Shearer who holds the record with 68 match-winning goals, two more than his nearest rival, Wayne Rooney.
