Lionel Messi scooped up the 2021 Ballon d'Or, winning his seventh award, while Robert Lewandowski and Gianluigi Donnaruma were also recognised for their achievements.

Lewandowski was considered a favourite to win the award after missing out last year, and ESPN have have sought to rectify this with their FC 100 list. The football giants have been putting out their carefully curated list since the last six years - the list breaks down the top ten players in individual lists according to their positions on the pitch.

Chelsea (12), Manchester City (12), and Paris Saint Germain (12) have the highest representation on the list. 41 players are from the Premier League, followed by LaLiga (21), Serie A (14), Bundesliga (10), and Ligue 1 (10).
