Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly planning an audacious move for Cristiano Ronaldo if Kylian Mbappe leaves for Real Madrid.

Mbappe is yet to sign a contract extension and has been long linked with a move to Real Madrid, and with his deal expiring next summer, Diario AS claim that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is interested in signing Juventus star Ronaldo, should Mbappe decide to leave.

PSG are adamant to hold on to the Frenchman, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by the Metro, Mbappe has major concerns about Lionel Messi's arrival at the club and believes the Argentine's presence could put him "in the shadow".

Reports have also claimed that Madrid president Florentino Perez is looking to take advantage of PSG's inflated wage bill following Messi's signing, and believes the Ligue 1 giants might be willing to let Mbappe leave for cheap.

Perez, who is well-known to spring a last-minute coup, is monitoring Mbappe's situation along with Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, who said he is "aware of everything".

Speaking at Messi's first press conference at the club, Al-Khelaifi touched on Mbappe's situation.

He said: "Everyone knows the future of Mbappe. He is a PSG player. Kylian is very competitive, he wants to win, he has publicly said that he does not want to leave the team and there are no doubts or excuses of any other kind. Mbappe stays."
