Paris Saint-Germain have been handed a timely boost in their pursuit to beat Manchester City in Champions League semi-final second leg and turn the tie around as Kylian Mbappe could recover in time for the fixture and be available for the game.
PSG had suffered a 2-1 defeat Man City at Parc des Princes in the first-leg as Kevin de Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez scored a goal each in the second-half after Marquinhos had put the hosts ahead in the 15th minute.
PSG go into the second-leg in need of a victory, and Pochettino is optimistic Mbappe, who missed their 2-1 win over Lens in Ligue One last week, will be able to feature against the Premier League side.
"I am optimistic. We believe that he will be there, but we will make a decision before the game," Pochettino said, as quoted by Marca.
Meanwhile, Neymar Jr, who is also expected to be crucial for PSG against Man City, has promised to do anything to help his side turn the tie around and progress to the final of the competition they finished as runners-up last season.
"We had a very tough first leg against Manchester City but we have to believe it no matter what the stats say or our percentage chance of winning."I think every Parisian should believe in us! I’m in the front line, and I’ll be the first warrior who goes into battle for the team.
"I will give the best of myself and I will do anything to bring this back no matter what, even if I have to die on the pitch."
