The English Premier League will be back just a day after the Christmas celebrations for Matchday 15. The Boxing Day fixtures have a special significance in the English top-flight and this year as many as 12 teams will be in action on 26th December.

The highlight of the Matchday, obviously, will be the opener between Leicester City and Manchester United at the King Power Stadium. The second and third-placed teams would be looking to retain their top-four status heading into the new year.

Here is our rundown of all the action that awaits us in the Premier League Matchday 15:

Leicester City vs Manchester United

The game between Leicester and Manchester United at the King Power Stadium is a perfect way to kick off the proceedings on the Boxing Day. The Foxes have had conclusive results from their games in the league this term and are the only side without a single draw in the league after 14 games.

Last Results:

The hosts recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Tottenham in their previous outing, thanks to a Jamie Vardy penalty and an own goal from Toby Alderweireld.

The Red Devils recorded their sixth wins from their last seven games against Leeds United, hitting their rivals for six as Bruno Fernandes took the centre-stage again.

Head-to-Head:

The two sides have clashed 130 times across all competitions so far. As one would expect, United have the upper hand in the fixture and lead 69-33 in the head-to-head record. 29 games in this fixture have ended in a draw. The hosts are winless in the fixture since 2014.

What This Could Mean:

The winner of the competition will definitely take over the second place in the standings behind Liverpool. A loss for either side would be enough to see the loser drop of out the top four. If the sides end up sharing a point apiece, only the visitors face the risk of losing their top four status.

Injuries and Suspensions:

Leicester: Caglar Soyuncu, Ricardo Pereira

Manchester United: Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo

Player to Watch:

Bruno Fernandes - The Portuguese midfielder has been highly influential for United this season and has nine goals and five assists to his name already this season. He scored from the penalty spot yet again in United's 6-2 thrashing of Leeds and has the capacity to deliver another stellar performance against a high-flying Leicester.

Prediction: 1-2 win for United

Fulham vs Southampton

18th-place Fulham welcome Southampton to the Craven Cottage on Saturday night in their Boxing Day fixture. Both teams have struggled in their last two fixtures.

Last Result:

The Cottagers played out their third consecutive draw in the league last time around, as they held Newcastle to a 1-1 draw in their trip to the Tyne.

Southampton suffered just their third loss of the campaign against Manchester City at home after they conceded early on in the game.

Head-to-Head:

There have been 75 competitive fixtures between the two sides so far. The visitors have a slight lead with 29 wins as compared to Fulham's 22 wins. They have played out stalemates on 24 occasions.

What This Could Mean:

The hosts have stayed in the relegation zone for the last two weeks having drawn their last three games. They still have a slight chance of moving into the green zone, only if they win and Brighton drop points.

The Saints have been in and out of the top four this term. With 24 points they are still very much in contention for the spot if they get back to winning ways here.

Injuries and Suspensions:

Fulham: Kenny Tete, Terence Kongolo, Ivan Cavaleiro

Southampton: Danny Ings, Stuart Armstrong, Nathan Redmond, Jannik Vestergaard, Oriol Romeu

Player to Watch:

Che Adams - With Danny Ings a doubt for the game, we expect the 24-year-old forward to step up and provide the threat in the final third. He has played all 14 games for The Saints so far and has four goals and assists apiece to his name.

Prediction: 0-1 win for Southampton

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace

Aston Villa entertain Crystal Palace in this mid-table clash at the Villa Park on Saturday evening.

Last Result:

Villa recorded their second win in their last three games as they easily overcame struggling West Brom thanks to Anwar El Ghazi's double.

Palace dropped points for the third time in a row as they were hit for seven goals by the reigning champions.

Head-to-Head:

The two clubs have squared off on 45 occasions so far and the hosts lead 19-12 in wins in this fixture. 14 games between these two sides have ended in a draw. In the 2019/20 season either side record a win in their respective home fixtures.

What This Could Mean:

The hosts have two games in hand over most of their top 10 opponents so if they continue winning here they can make a late run for their top-four spot.

The Eagles cannot move into the top 10 even if they secure a win here and even if they lose they'll mostly drop just one spot in the standings to the 14th place.

Injuries and Suspensions:

Villa: Wesley, Hassan, Ross Barkley

Palace: Nathan Ferguson, Wayne Hennessey, Connor Wickham, Martin Kelly, Mamadou Sakho

Player to Watch:

Anwar El Ghazi - The Dutch winger has started to show his pace and skills for Villa in the recent outings. Though Jack Grealish was their talisman for much of the earlier part of the season, Ghazi's all three goals for the club have come in the last three games.

Prediction: 2-1 win for Aston Villa

Arsenal vs Chelsea

The London Derby which at one point of time saw the great rivalry between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger take place on the field will now see two former players in Mikel Arteta and Frank Lampard leading Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday night.

Last Results:

Arsenal's run of bad form in the league continued as they were beaten 2-1 in their last Premier League outing and were also eliminated from the Carabao Cup yesterday by Manchester City.

The Blues got back to winning ways against London rivals West Ham with a 3-0 win after they lost two games in a row.

Head-to-Head:

The fierce rivals have crossed paths 201 times across all competitions and it is the hosts that have a slight advantage in the fixture winning 78 of their meetings. Chelsea have 65 wins to their name while 58 games have ended in a draw. In their last meeting, which was the FA Cup final earlier this year, The Gunners recorded 2-1 win to lift their first silverware since 2017.

What This Could Mean:

The two London rivals have endured very different fortunes in the league this term. Arsenal are sixth from the bottom while Chelsea are fifth from the top. The best the hosts could hope for is a move to the 14th place while Chelsea's final positioning also depends on how the other teams perform in the top 10.

Injuries and Suspensions:

Arsenal: Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, Gabriel Martinelli, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Chelsea: Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Hakim Ziyech

Player to Watch:

Tammy Abraham - The English forward bagged a quick-fire double against West Ham last time out to seal the three points for Chelsea. The goals were his first in his last five appearances and should be enough for him to retain his place against Arsenal on Saturday night.

Prediction: 1-2 win to Chelsea

Manchester City vs Newcastle United

Manchester City would be looking to make it six games without a loss for the first time this term when they host Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium in their Boxing Day fixture.

Last Results:

City recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Southampton in their last league game while they were also victorious in their Carabao Cup fixture beating Arsenal 4-1.

Newcastle played out a 1-1 draw against Fulham after their top scorer Callum Wilson rescued a point for them from the penalty spot.

Head-to-Head:

The two clubs have gone head-to-head 182 times across all competitions and the record is very pretty even at this point of time. Surprisingly, The Magpies have a 72-70 lead while 40 games have ended in a draw.

What This Could Mean:

The hosts need to continue winning if they are to climb up the standings in a tightly packed top 10. A loss here would probably see them drop a couple of places in the standings but stay in the top 10.
The visitors have done well to stay near the middle of the pack and have a slight chance of moving into the top 10.

Injuries and Suspensions:

City: Eric Garcia

Newcastle: Martin Dubravka, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Allan Saint-Maximin, Jamaal Lascelles, Javi Manquillo

Player to Watch:

Sergio Aguero - The Argentine striker made an appearance from the bench in City's massive win and though he did not play any part in the game per se, he looked back to full fitness. The player is one of the most prolific scorers in the Premier League history and we expect him to mark his return to league action with a goal or two.

Prediction: 3-0 win to Manchester City

Sheffield United vs Everton

In the last game on the Boxing Day last-placed Sheffield United welcome Everton to the Bramall Lane still in search of their first win of the season.

Last Result:

After eight consecutive losses in the league Sheffield United played out their second draw of the season with Brighton in their previous outing.

Everton recorded a 2-1 win against Arsenal in their last league fixture but suffered a 2-0 loss in their EFL Cup game against Manchester United.

Head-to-Head:

The two sides have locked horns 133 times so far across all competitions. The record stands 54-48 in favour of the hosts while 31 games have ended in a draw. Last season, either side recorded a win in in their travel to the other's home turf.

What This Could Mean:

Even after a win here, The Blades would still remain in the bottom three but it would go a long way in giving them a much need boost.

The Toffees have moved back into the top four with three wins on the spin but will stay there only if they record a win here.

Injuries and Suspensions:

Sheffield: Oliver McBurnie, Jack O'Connell, Kean Bryan, Sander Berge, John Lundstram
Everton: Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Lucas Digne, Fabian Delph, James Rodriguez, Andre Gomes

Player to Watch:

Dominic Calvert-Lewin- Whenever Everton are in action it is hard to ignore the English striker who is the top-scoring English player in the Premier League. He has scored 11 goals in the competition so far and probably the only in-form player for the home side. They'll again be looking at their talisman to provide some spark in the final third in this easy fixture.

Prediction: 1-2 win for Everton

Leeds United vs Burnley

Leeds United would be looking to put their 6-2 thumping at the hands of Manchester United behind them when they host Burnley in their upcoming league fixture.

Last Result:

Leeds suffered their third defeat from their last four outings as they suffered a 6-2 beating at the hands of Manchester United at the Old Trafford.

Burnley successfully avoided dropping points for the fourth-game straight as they overcame Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Turf Moor last week.

Head-to-Head:

The two sides have met each other 60 times across all competitions. The hosts lead the head-to-head record 31-18 and 11 games have ended in a stalemate.

What This Could Mean:

The hosts have 17 points currently so do not have a chance of breaking into the top 10 even after a win, Arsenal at the 15th-place have 14 points so even if they lose here, they are likely to stay in the 14th position.

The Clarets have not lost in the last four games and if they manage a draw or win here they can make it five games without a defeat in the league.

Injuries and Suspensions:

Leeds: Adam Forshaw, Gaetano Berardi, Robin Koch, Liam Cooper
Burnley: Jack Cork, Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Dwight McNeil, Matej Vydra

Player to Watch:

Patrick Bamford - The striker has found has been in fine form for Leeds this season and is their top scorer at the moment. He failed to shine against Manchester United last time around so would be raring to redeem himself with a match-winning performance here.

Prediction: 2-1 win for Leeds

West Ham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion

West Ham United invite Brighton to the London Stadium on Sunday night looking to bounce back from their 3-0 derby loss to Chelsea last time around.

Last Result:

The Hammers lost 3-0 to Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge, in what was their second loss in their last four outings.

The Seagulls managed to stay above the drop zone after their second consecutive draw as Danny Welbeck scored the equalising goal in the 87th minute.

Head-to-Head:

The two sides have squared off 53 times across all competitions so far. The head-to-head record is pretty even at this point with 18 wins for either side and 17 games have ended in a draw.

What This Could Mean:

The hosts are currently in the 10th place but with the race to stay in the top 10 getting heated up only a win would allow them to retain their current place or do better.

The visitors need a draw to stay in the 17th place but face the danger of dropping into the bottom three if Fulham win their game.

Injuries and Suspensions:

West Ham: Arthur Masuaku, Mikhail Antonio, Fabian Balbuena
Brighton: Florin Andone, Jose Izquierdo, Tariq Lamptey

Player to Watch:

Danny Welbeck - The former Manchester United striker scored a late equalizer for his side to win a point for his side. He came on as a second-half substitute but a late goal last time around could mean a place in the Starting XI for him.

Prediction: 1-0 win to West Ham.

Liverpool vs West Bromwich Albion

The reigning champions welcome 19th-placed West Brom to the Anfield after punishing Crystal Palace 7-0 in their last outing. They have opened up a four-point gap between them and second-placed Leicester.

Last Result:

The Reds recorded their biggest away win in the Premier League when they beat Palace 7-0, thanks to braces from Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.

West Brom suffered their third loss from their last four outings after Aston Villa defeated them 3-0 at home.

Head-to-Head:

The two clubs have faced each other 151 times across all competitions and as expected Liverpool have the advantage in this fixture. The Reds have won 68 of their meetings while 39 games have ended in a win for the visitors. 44 games between the two have ended in a draw.

What This Could Mean:

The Reds have not lost a game at Anfield since 2017 and the way they have performed in their last couple of games a win looks like the most likely outcome from this fixture.

West Brom find themselves in the bottom three after failing to record a win in their second win of the campaign in their last four outings and will likely stay in the drop zone despite a win.

Injuries and Suspensions:

Liverpool: Joe Gomez, Xherdan Shaqiri, Virgil van Dijk, Konstantinos Tsimikas, Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota

West Brom: Conor Townsend, Hal Robson-Kanu, Kyle Bartley, Jake Livermore, Sam Field

Player to Watch:

Roberto Firmino - The Brazilian forward has hit form at the right time for the Reds. His rich vein of form will come in handy as the fixtures come in thick and fast after the new year. His partnership with Mo Salah is also taking shape beautifully.

Prediction: 3-0 win for Liverpool

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Tottenham Hotspur

In the last game of Matchday 15, Wolverhampton Wanderers host Tottenham Hotspur at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday night. After being at the top of the table for almost a month, Spurs find themselves in the sixth position after two back-to-back defeats.

Last Result:

Wolves suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat to Burnley, which was their third defeat from their last four outings.

Spurs dropped points for the third consecutive game, as they suffered a second back-to-back defeat to Leicester in their last league fixture. They did move on to the semi-finals in the EFL Cup, so that was a piece of positive news for them in midweek.

Head-to-Head:

There have been 97 meetings between the two sides so far. Tottenham have the upper hand in this fixture with 48 wins to their name. Wolves have won 29 times while 20 games have ended in a draw.

What This Could Mean:

Wolves have stayed in the middle of the pack with inconsistent results and could go as high as eighth under the best-case scenario and go down to 13th in the worst-case scenario.

Only two points separate Tottenham from second-placed Leicester, so they can move into the top four if they record a win here. Another loss and they could go as low as 9th in the standings.

Injuries and Suspensions:

Wolves: Jonny, Raul Jimenez, Leander Dendoncker
Spurs: Erik Lamela, Japhet Tanganga, Giovani Lo Celso

Player to Watch:

Harry Kane - The striker has been in incredible form this season and has delivered in key fixtures for the club, including a goal in the North London derby. He now has the most goal involvements in the league this season, with 9 goals and 10 assists. He was also on target in Spurs' EFL Cup triumph and would be looking to continue his goalscoring form here.
