Phil Jones tops Man United's average ratings for the season after just one appearance

Manchester United defender, Phil Jones made his first appearance for the Red Devils in two years during their 1-0 loss to Wolves in the Premier League on Monday and was without doubt their best player on the night.
The 29-year-old partnered Raphael Varane in central defence and was their best player despite being heavily criticised by the fans for large parts of the career with many believing that his days at Old Trafford were numbered considering that he had not played for 712 days.
As per WhoScored, Jones' one appearance was enough for him to register the highest average rating for any player to feature for United this season, with 7.23 to his name. In fact, the defender has a higher average rating than a number of top stars with Paul Pogba and Alex Telles coming in second and third with a rating of 7.14 and 7.01, respectively.
