Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba has opened up on what it means to be a leader in the dressing room of the club, revealing that one has to be a "leader both on and off the pitch".

Pogba is one of the more experienced players in the Red Devils squad, considering that he joined United in the summer of 2016 and is one of the few players left who experienced Europa League success in 2017.

While there is no doubt that United look a better side when the Frenchman is on the pitch, the player himself believes that as a leader he looks to push the squad in a positive direction.

"You can be a leader both on and off the pitch. You speak with the young players and the whole squad to motivate them; and motivating my teammates motivates me in return. Whenever I see a team-mate training and working hard, that pushes me to train and reach my limits too," he told UEFA's official website.

"You need everyone to be involved if you want to succeed. You can’t win alone."

The 28-year-old who moved to United for a then world record fee in 2016 has so far made 193 appearances for the club, scoring 37 goals and helping them win one Europa League and one EFL Cup.
