Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has been suspended for two Ligue 1 games after picking up a red card during the weekend's 1-0 league loss to Lille.
The Brazilian was sent off for picking up a second yellow card following a foul on Tiago Djalo, who reacted with a foul-mouthed rant and was also shown a red card. The Disciplinary Commission of the French professional league (LFP) handed Neymar a two-match ban, which means he will miss Saturday's trip to Strasbourg and Saint-Etienne's visit the following weekend.
"Meeting on April 7, 2021, the Disciplinary Commission of the LFP took the following decisions: three suspension matches including a suspended match for Neymar Jr. (Paris Saint-Germain)," a statement read.
This was Neymar’s second sending off of the campaign, and his fourth in as many seasons since joining from Barcelona. The defeat leaves PSG three points off league leaders Lille with seven games remaining this season. PSG will have just five Ligue 1 matches remaining when Neymar is able to return on April 24 against Metz.
