Nicolas Pepe Deletes Instagram Post Joking After Making Ill-Timed Joke About Arsenal's Relegation

Nicolas Pepe rushed to delete an Instagram post mocking Arsenal's relegation form following their win over Norwich on Saturday.

The Gunners started the weekend bottom of the Premier League table after losing all three of their opening games, to Brentford, Chelsea, and Manchester City. However, Saturday's 1-0 win lifted them to 16th on the league table after captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tapped home the only goal of the game.

And Pepe posted on Instagram: "We are staying up!! Thank you Arsenal fans for all your support."

While relegation was never a legitimate fear for Arsenal, fans had their share of fun, chanting "We are staying up!" at the Emirates Stadium, and Mikel Arteta commented after the match saying, "I didn't hear that but if it was done in a funny way, you have to accept it."

However, the Gunners' faithful did not take too kindly to Pepe's post and hit out at him on social media.
