Neymar Jr is 'unbearable' on the pitch and would provoke opponents with and without ball, according to former Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran.

Juanfran, who was at Atletico Madrid for almost nine years, came up against some of the world's best players, including Neymar, during that period, and he has named the Brazilian, who is currently Paris Saint-Germain's ranks, as the player who got under his skin the most.

Juanfran faced Neymar during Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona matches when the Brazilian was plying his trade for the Catalan outfit. Neymar had spent four seasons at Barca, from 2014 to 2017, before leaving for PSG for a world-record fee.

"Off the pitch they've told me he is a good guy, but he was unbearable on it," Juanfran told Cadena SER [via Marca] when asked to name the opponent who irritated him the most. "He would provoke you with and without the ball.

"But, I wasn't exactly a saint either."

Meanwhile, Juanfran left Atletico Madrid at the end of the 2018-19 season when his contract with the side expired. The former Spanish international, who then joined São Paulo and was at the Brazilian club until March 2021, is now a free agent, according to Transfermarkt.
