Neymar Jr will miss Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League round-of-16 second leg match against his former team FC Barcelona, according to the latest update.

Neymar has been sidelined since picking up an injury during PSG's French Cup clash with Caen on February 10. PSG have played six games without the Brazilian international since, including their 4-1 win over Barcelona at Camp Nou in the round-of-16 first leg.

However, Neymar was expected to be back in time for the second leg against Barcelona, but it seems PSG are not interested in rushing the 29-year-old back into action.

Ahead of the Champions League second-leg tie, PSG provided medical update on their official website, wherein they stated: "Neymar Jr returned to partial training with the squad last week and will continue to work back to fitness individually. A new assessment will be made in the coming days."

Neymar's absence, however, should not be a problem for PSG and they will be expecting to comfortably see off Barcelona, who have been impressive in recent weeks, and progress to the quarter-finals of the competition they finished as runners-up last season.

Meanwhile, Juan Bernat, who "continues his recovery and individual work", and Moise Kean, who "remains in self-isolation due to COVID-19", will also miss the game against Barcelona.
