Neymar Jr has put contract renewal talks with Paris Saint-Germain on hold and is ready to return to FC Barcelona, according to reports.

Neymar's current contract with PSG expires in 2022, and there have been talks over extending his stay at the Ligue One side beyond the end of the next season.

Neymar was expected to renew his PSG contract, but the Brazilian seems to have changed his mind now, with Catalan newspaper Ara [via Marca] claiming the 29-year-old has informed Barcelona he would be willing to return to the club he spent four seasons with.

The Catalan newspaper also report that Neymar believes Lionel Messi, who PSG have been linked with a move for in the summer, will renew his contract and extend his stay at Barcelona.

However, even if Neymar is keen on a return to Camp Nou, it would be difficult for Barcelona to pull of a deal, given the club's current financial situation.

Meanwhile, Neymar was sent off in PSG's recent match against Lille in Ligue One. The former Barcelona star received a second yellow card after shoving Lille's Djalo to the floor in the 90th minute of the match, which the defending league champions lost 1-0.
