Key Summary:

1. New Zealand Woman's defender Meikayla Moore scored a hat-trick of own goals against the US.

2. The Liverpool player scored all three goals in the first half.

3. NZ went on to lose 5-0 to the US in the SheBelievesCup.

New Zealand Woman's defender, Meikayla Moore, achieved a rare unwanted feat when she scored three goals in her country's SheBelievesCup clash with the US.

Moore scored all three goals in the first half, making it nearly impossible for The Football Ferns to mount a comeback. They eventually went on to lose 5-0 on Sunday.

Her first two goals came within the opening six minutes, while the third came less than half an hour later. To make matters worse, Moore scored the perfect hat-trick - as her own goals were completed with her left foot, right foot, and her head.

Plenty of Liverpool fans showed their support for the club's centre-back, who signed for The Reds in 2020.

Moore has gone on to make 15 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions.

US defender Ali Krieger tweeted her support for Moore during the game.

"I’m so proud of the USWNT, 3-0 at half vs NZ, but I do have to say my heart goes out to Moore.

"This beautiful game can be cruel sometimes and today doesn’t define her! I can’t imagine the pressure she feels atm and I hope she’s okay."
