Super agent Mino Raiola has claimed that Real Madrid can afford to buy Erling Haaland this summer despite president Florentino Perez claiming otherwise.

Perez said last week that no club would be able to afford to sign Haaland and Kylian Mbappe without the financial backing of the European Super League. Only Madrid and Barcelona remain a part of the ESL, which was formed earlier this week, as 10 of the original founding clubs backed out after facing severe backlash from fans and former players.

However, in an interview with AS, Raiola insisted that the LaLiga giants have the cash to move for the £154m-rated 20-year-old. "Real Madrid can afford Erling Haaland. They have money to sign him," he said.

Meanwhile, FC Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly still interested in the Norwegian striker.

Following the collapse of the Super League, Perez told El Larguero: "In general, there will not be big transfers this summer. When money does not flow from the rich clubs to the poor clubs, everyone suffers."

He added, "It's impossible to make signings like Mbappe and Haaland, in general, not just for Real Madrid, without the Super League. This is a pyramid, and the money runs down, there would be money for everyone."

Madrid have been linked with both players since last summer and were contemplating making a move for Mbappe in the upcoming transfer window. Perez concluded, "If we don't sign Mbappe this summer, I don't think any fan will shoot himself in the head. They know we're doing our best, and if things don't happen, it's because they're impossible."
