Mazatlan President Claims Liga MX Side Could Sign Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Mazatlan president Ricardo Salinas Pliego has claimed the Liga MX side could sign both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi is currently a free agent after Barcelona confirmed the Argentine would be leaving the club, and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly leading the race to sign the six-time Ballon d'Or winner. Mazatlan's president ran a poll on Twitter asking fans if the club should go after Messi or former player-turned-politician Cuauhtemoc Blanco this summer.
"I am thinking of inviting Messi to collaborate with Mazatlan," he wrote before sharing the survey.

A fan was sceptical about the club's ambition, and Pliego replied: "I have plenty to bring Cristiano Ronaldo as well."
Me sobra para traer también a Cristiano Ronaldo.

He then posted images from outside the club's stadium, adding: "They are already getting Lio Messi's jersey ready there at the Kraken. Such nerves!"

Mazatlan was founded in 2020 and is owned by Salinas, one of the richest people in Mexico with a net worth of over $13b.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that signing Lionel Messi might convince Kylian Mbappe to extend his stay with the Ligue 1 giants. "I have not spoken with [Messi]," Pochettino told a pre-match press conference ahead of his side's Ligue 1 opener against Troyes. "And [any move] would not mean that Kylian would leave.
"A player of Messi's calibre, that is what is interesting to me. The club are working on several options, but we must focus on the game with Troyes. We know about what happened yesterday. The club is working on the transfer window and on the elements that could come in to improve the team and allow us to achieve our goals."
