Manchester United's preferred managerial choice, Mauricio Pochettino is apparently a huge fan of Donny van de Beek and should he arrive at the club, the Dutchman is set to be his star man.

Pochettino is heavily reported to take over the managerial reigns at Old Trafford and the current PSG boss is said to be very keen to return to the Premier League.

If Pochettino does land the United job, it is sure to be great news for one player especially, Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman has barely featured for Solskjaer, playing just three games in the league this season.

With Pochettino being heavily linked with Manchester United, we take a look at his comments on Van de Beek ahead of Tottenham's blockbuster Champions League tie against Ajax in 2019.

"Van de Beek. Nobody talks much about him.

"But he has a dynamic in the game, he gets behind Tadic, he arrives, he works, he scores goals.

"Logically, I love De Jong and De Ligt. But the example of the operation of this Ajax is Van de Beek. I like very much," he added.

"They have a young player, from the academy, in each line, that shows what the team is."

Pochettino's comments prove that Van de Beek could be the main man at Manchester United once the Argentine coach arrives at the Theatre of Dreams.
