And ex-Juve boss, who has worked with a host of stars during his time in Italy and Milan, has revealed that Ronaldo ‘has a different head to everybody else’.
“I had a lot of strong players, with strong mentality,” he told The Times.
Allegri added, “Defenders like (Giorgio) Chiellini and (Alessandro) Nesta, midfielders like (Gennaro) Gattuso and (Clarence) Seedorf and strikers like (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic and (Cristiano) Ronaldo."
The former Juventus boss concluded, “Ronaldo is the top player for mentality. Ronaldo has a different head to everyone. He’s won five Ballons d’Or, five Champions Leagues and one European Championship for Portugal, and that is so difficult, and it’s always him being the difference. Every year he has a new objective.”
The Portuguese star hit goal number 750 of his career during the midweek as Juventus beat Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League. His goal was also his 75th for Juventus since joining the Italian giants from Real Madrid in 2018, having netted exactly 450 times for Los Blancos.
And with ten goals already scored this season, in only eight matches, Ronaldo is showing no signs of slowing down.
