Manchester United have reportedly found a way to hand footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo his iconic No.7 shirt, one which is currently being used by striker, Edinson Cavani who has occupied it since last season.
United created headlines when they confirmed that they agreed a deal with Juventus to bring back Ronaldo to Old Trafford, with it also being reported that he has already completed his medical and the only thing remaining to complete the deal is for the player to sign the paperwork.
The 36-year-old was handed the No.7 shirt by Sir Alex Ferguson during his first spell with the Red Devils and now French journalist, Tanguy Le Seviller has claimed that it could happen as Cavani will take the No 21 shirt when Daniel James' move to Leeds United goes through.
The Wales international is in advanced talks with the Lilywhites over a permanent deal and if the move goes through on deadline day, it means that Cavani will take the No.21 shirt, having worn the number for Uruguay.
This will ensure that Ronaldo would then be able to wear his former number once again on his return to the club, with fans and former player excited about the impact that he will have on the fortunes of the club as they look to challenge for trophies this season.
