Manchester United ended Manchester City's 21-game winning run, with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw giving the Red Devils a 2-0 win over their rivals at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

The game got off to an incredible start when Anthony Martial was brought down in the box by Gabriel Jesus after just 34 seconds. Bruno Fernandes then managed to squeeze the resultant penalty past Ederson to open the scoring.

Following this early setback City rallied, carving out a few promising opportunities without ever coming that close to levelling the scores.

After the break United would double the lead through Luke Shaw, who ran the length of the field before playing a one-two with Marcus Rashford and placing the ball into the bottom corner. Again, City attempted to hit back but they were curtailed by some impressive United defending.

Manchester United went berserk on Twitter after their team came up with an unlikely, but well deserved three points on the night.

Here are some of the best reactions from their win, which meant they will remain unbeaten against their nearest rivals over the two games in the Premier League season....

The result moves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side up to second in the Premier League table, although they remain 11 points adrift of their Manchester rivals.
