Manchester United Fans Jokingly Compare Jesse Lingard & Lionel Messi After Pre-Season Goal
Manchester United fans have jokingly compared Jesse Lingard to Argentina icon, Lionel Messi after the attacking midfielder scored during the Red Devils' 4-2 loss to Queens Park Rangers in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Lingard was widely expected to leave United in the summer after enjoying a successful short loan-spell at West Ham United in the second half of last season, but Red Devils boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed last week that the England international would be given a chance to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old took no time to impress against QPR, finding the back of the net in just the third minute of the game, which has led to some United fans to predict that he will have a fantastic season - with certain sections of the fans jokingly comparing him to Messi.

While West Ham are understood to be still interested in signing Lingard, it looks unlikely that the player would make the move considering that he has a chance of rejuvenating his United career.
