Manchester United were embarrassed by Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday as the Reds ran riot with a 5-0 scoreline over their fiercest rivals.

The Red Devils have previously lost big at Old Trafford, but none of those will hurt them as much as losing to arch rivals Liverpool on their sacred ground.

Here's a look at some of the worst defeats Manchester United have suffered at home in the Premier League under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer:

1. Man Utd 0-5 Liverpool (Premier League)

Results at home don't come much worst than this for Manchester United and their fans.

It is a well known fact that Liverpool are United's fiercest rivals and losing to them at Old Trafford with a 0-5 scoreline would just make a Red Devil's blood boil.

That's exactly what happened on October 24, 2021 when a Mohamed Salah hat-trick and goals from Jota and Keita saw Liverpool claim an incredible win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's clueless Red Devils.

2. Man Utd 1-6 Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League)

Back in October last year, Solskjaer led his team against former United manager Jose Mourinho, who was managing Tottenham at that time.

Mourinho was out for blood and blood is what he got when his Spurs side absolutely demolished the Red Devils at Old Trafford by a 1-6 scoreline.

Ndombele and Aurier scored along with braces from Son and Kane.

3. Man Utd 1-3 Crystal Palace (Premier League)

Back to the beginning of the 2020-21 Premier League season, Crystal Palace visited Old Trafford and took a 2-0 lead before Donny van de Beek scored for United on debut.

However, Zaha scored five minutes before time to hand the Red Devils an embarrasing opening day loss at Old Trafford.

4. Man Utd 1-2 Sheffield United (Premier League)

Probably the most insulting defeat for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men was to the 2020-21's worst Premier League club, Sheffield United.

The club who got relegated from the league in record time handed Solskjaer's side with an embarrassing 1-2 home defeat in January this year.

5. Man Utd 2-4 Liverpool (Premier League)

Moving on from Sheffield United's win at Old Trafford in January, the Red Devils also suffered a 2-4 loss to Liverpool at home towards the end of last season.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring before Jota equalised. Firmino then scored a quickfire brace before Rashford replied for United. Salah then wrapped things up in the final minutes.

6. Man Utd 0-1 Aston Villa (Premier League)

In September, the Red Devils took on Aston Villa at Old Trafford and lost courtesy of an 88th minute goal from Kortney Hause.

The Red Devils dominated the game in terms of possession but never looked like scoring throughout the game, thus paying for it just before full-time.
