Manchester United are finally looking like they will manage to get rid of all the dead-wood at their club for the last few years.

The Red Devils have been the centre of attention when it comes to handing players extra-ordinary wages and by doing that, they've seen their squad numbers soar in the last two transfer windows.

Manchester Evening News reveal that with Anthony Martial going out on loan and Jesse Lingard leaving soon, United could end up freeing as much as £350,000-a-week from the current wage bill.

This amount could rise even further if players like Andreas Pereira and Phil Jones leave in the summer.

These above four players combine to around £500,000-a-week in wages, which is absolutely unbelievable considering their roles in the team.

Moving on from these players, Paul Pogba could leave United in the summer transfer window, second time for free, but will free up as much as £290,000-a-week.

Edinson Cavani, who has yet to decide on his future past this season along with Juan Mata's departure could see another £300,000-a-week saved.

On an aggregate level, United could save £1.1 million spendings per week if they manage their outgoings well throughout January.

This will go a long way in smoothening the process of Manchester United's probable big plans for the summer transfer window later this year.
