Premier League champions, Manchester City reportedly want Aston Villa star, Jack Grealish to inform the club of his decision to leave them when he returns back to pre-season training on Monday.

City are understood to be extremely keen to land Grealish and are closing in on a record £100million transfer to sign Villa's talisman this summer. Reports state that Cityzens chairman, Khaldoon Al-Mubarak is growing increasingly confident of signing the 25-year-old and wants Grealish to help push the move through by telling the West Midlands side he wants to leave.

The 25-year-old has so far made no public desire to leave Villa, but with his future at the club under a doubt, he is set to hold talks with manager, Dean Smith and club owners, Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris.

Villa for their part do not want to sell their star player unless City meet their valuation of 100m and are all set to offer him a new contract worth more than £150,000-a-week in an effort to convince him to stay.

Grealish has established himself as Villa's talisman and arguably the most exciting player in the league, making 213 appearances for them so far, scoring 32 goals and playing a big role in helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League in the recent past.

Should City complete his signing, the England midfielder could become the most expensive signing ever made by a British club.
