Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has revealed that he "always values" Lucas Vazquez and is confident that the Spaniard will be offered a new contract by the Los Blancos management.

Vazquez who has become a regular under Zidane this term played a full 90 minutes during Madrid's 2-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday, is out of contract at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old is known for his versatility on the field as seen by the times he has played at right-back at times this season, and Zidane for his part wants the Madrid academy graduate to be offered a new deal.

"He always gives everything for us. I have always valued him and what he gives to us on the pitch. Now he is having the opportunity to show us what he is all about. He was a youth player for us and has Madrid in his heart. I'm happy for him and the team," he told Movistar+

"He is an important player and the club knows it. I think it will happen that he will renew."

Zidane saw his side notch up an important victory in Europe, with the Spaniard registering their first ever win against Inter at San Siro - putting them a point behind Group B leaders, Borussia Monchengladbach and five ahead of Inter.
