Barcelona icon, Lionel Messi is reportedly set to pocket £170,000-per-week from the Catalan giants until 2025, even if he leaves the club in the summer, with Marca reporting that he will get a huge paycheck irrespective of his decision.
Messi's future at the Nou Camp remains a huge source of speculation considering that his current contract with the Catalan giants ends in June 2021, with the player yet to agree to new terms with the club.
This means that the 33-year-old will be able to leave Barcelona for free in the summer, with the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain considered to be the favourites to sign him. Even if he does move, the player will earn a whopping €39million (£34.8m) at the end of the campaign.
The amount is half of the €78m bonus agreed when he last renewed his Barca contract in 2017. Messi has already received the other €39m installment, with the agreement stating that Messi will receive it in eight separate payments over four years rather than a lump sum.
The current agreement would no doubt be welcomed by the player as he would be receiving payments for another four years, which would be in addition to the massive wages he earns.
