Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan in recent times and now Italian news outlet, TuttoMercatoWeb has made a huge claim, revealing that there has never been nor are there any negotiations taking place currently regarding a potential transfer.

Representatives of the six-time Ballon d'Or winner have refuted suggestions of a potential move and that they are in talks with Inter while also insisting that their client is a Barcelona player and will be with them till his current contract expires in the summer of 2021.

It recently emerged that the Italians had set aside a staggering €260million in order to lure the 33-year-old to the San Siro, with the owners of the club very keen to land the superstar as they look to once again be considered as a powerhouse in Europe.

Messi for his part is yet to comment on the speculation surrounding his future, instead preferring to concentrate on his performances on the field. He has been his usual brilliant self this season, ending the LaLiga season as the top goalscorer with 25 goals which ensured that he won a record seventh Pichichi trophy.

The Catalan's will be hoping that he continues his form in Europe when they face Napoli in the Champions League round of 16 second leg fixture on August 8.
