Barcelona star, Jordi Alba has admitted that club talisman, Lionel Messi is '100 percent' to the Catalan giants ahead of their UEFA Champions League, first leg round of 16 clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
Messi's future at the Nou Camp has been a source of speculation considering that his current contract expires at the end of the season, with the player yet to agree to new terms with the club. The likes of PSG and Manchester City have been heavily linked with the 33-year-old, who has reiterated that he will only take a decision once the season is completed.
“Even if I had my future clear in my mind, I wouldn’t reveal my plans yet. For now, he is 100 percent committed to Barcelona. With him, we’re better and stronger and I hope he stays here for many more years. But, it’s his decision and that needs to be respected," Alba said at a press conference.
"Right now, he is focused on Barcelona. You can see that in every match. He’ll decide at the end of the season. We don’t pay attention to what other players or clubs are saying right now. Many people talk, but he’ll have the final word and he’ll have thought long and hard about his decision. He’ll do what he thinks is best.”
For now though Barcelona will be hoping that Messi continues his good form as the majority of their hopes of winning a trophy rests on his shoulders.
