Lionel Messi is said to be angry at the criticisms that has been directed at him by the French press since joining Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi joined PSG on a two-year contract, with option for another year, in the summer transfer window after Barcelona could not offer the Argentine a new contract.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner could not instantly hit the ground running at PSG, and that slow start to life at his new club has seen him attract criticism from the French press.
Messi was heavily criticised by the French press in the wake of his performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League round-of-16 first leg as he missed a penalty.
According to Le Parisien [via Le Fegaro], Messi is 'angry' at how he has been treated by the French press, and has confided his bemusement to several of his teammates.
Meanwhile, Messi is slowly finding form, and with six assists from seven appearances for PSG in 2022, he is the player with most assists in Europe's top five leagues this year.
Since joining PSG, Messi has featured in 23 games for the French behemoths, scoring seven and assisting 11 goals. The Argentine will be hoping to further up his game and help PSG achieve all their objectives this season.
