Barcelona icon, Lionel Messi and his father who is also his agent, Jorge Messi are currently in contract negotiation talks with the Catalan giants and are reportedly not satisfied with the first offer put on the board by the club management.

Messi's future at the Nou Camp has been a source of speculation ever since he put in a transfer request last summer, and what has made it even more scary for the club is that his current contract expires at the end of the season, with the star yet to agree to new terms with them.

According to journalist, Marçal Lorente via Sin Concesiones, the 33-year-old are said to be unhappy with the with the latest contract offer that Barcelona president, Joan Laporta and the board have offered him.

Laporta has reiterated that his main goal is to ensure that Messi remains at the Nou Camp for the foreseeable future, but their current financial struggles mean that they can only offer him a reduced salary from his current one, though the Spaniard plans was to pay back the deficit in the long term with Messi eventually becoming a club ambassador.

Messi for his part has been his usual brilliant self in front of goal, scoring 37 goals in all competitions so far, leading the club to the Copa del Rey honour - though it looks unlikely that he will be able to clinch the LaLiga title, unless Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid slip-up as the season comes to it's conclusion.
