Lazio striker, Ciro Immobile capped of a brilliant season on an individual by tying with Gonzalo Higuain's for the record of most goals in a Serie A season, while his tally of 36 also means he finishes as the European Golden Shoe winner for the 2019/20 campaign.
Despite losing 3-1 to Napoli in their final league game of the season, the Italian did manage to find the back of the net which ensured that he finished the campaign as the top goalscorer in the Serie A with 36 goals, five ahead of Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 30-year-old equalled the record set by Higuain who had netted 36 goals during the 2015/16 season while playing for Napoli under manager, Maurizio Sarri. Immobile would have won the award nonetheless considering that Juventus opted to rest Ronaldo for their final game of the season.
Immobile outscored the likes of Bayern Munich hitman, Robert Lewandowski (34), Ronaldo (31) and Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi (25) this season which ensured that he won the coveted European Golden Shoe award.
This is the first time that the Italian has won the award and while he has not been linked with a move away from Lazio in the summer, it will be interesting to see whether a big club launches a bid for him.
