Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has told the squad that Kylian Mbappe will be staying at the club this season.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a switch to Madrid all summer, but has reportedly told his team-mates he will remain at the Parc des Princes for one more season.
Liverpool are also reportedly interested in signing Mbappe next summer when he will be available on a free. The Reds have been interested in Mbappe since he was at Monaco, and could make a swoop for him next summer, according to the Transfer Window Podcast.
The podcast claims that Mbappe is "interested" in a deal with Jurgen Klopp's side, but will be strongly pursued by Madrid if he is indeed available on a free next summer.
At Lionel Messi’s unveiling, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was clear in his opinion on the matter when he said there is now ‘no excuse’ for Mbappe not to remain in Paris.
“I think everyone knows what Kylian's future is: he is Parisian. He's said that he wanted a competitive team – there's no excuse to do anything else now,” the club chief explained.
