Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe gave fans an extremely cryptic response hinting he could stay at the Ligue 1 club after equalling Zlatan Ibrahimovic's goal record.

Mbappe has just four months left on his deal at PSG, and has been long linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old is PSG's joint-second top goalscorer with 156 goals, but is still trailing Edinson Cavani's tally by 44 goals.

However, Mbappe revealed he still hopes to catch the Uruguayan's record.

“It’s very special, I think having the opportunity to be able to match a player like Ibrahimovic is something fantastic,” he said after the match.

“We all know what he did here, so that means we have high standards. Managing to score at the Parc des Princes and equaling it here has a special flavor.

“Here, at home, in front of the supporters, who have always supported us, so we are very happy to have this communion.

“We have important moments ahead of us and we all want to go together in the same direction.”

PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino was full of praise for MMbappe after the game, telling reporters: "It's not easy [to describe Mbappe], he's incredible, magnificent. An incredible player.

"I'm very happy because we finished the match very well. We finished the game the way we wanted to play. Leo (Messi) and Ney were also important for us."
