Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Kylian Mbappe's name was once again booed by the club's supporters on a night when record six-time Ballon d'Or award winner, Lionel Messi made his home debut at the Parc des Princes during their win against Lyon.

Mbappe's name was initially booed when the official starting lineups for their clash with Lyon were read out an hour before kickoff, while the supporters were at it again when the strikers name was read out again shortly before kickoff, where he was again greeted by largely boos from a capacity crowd.

It is understood that there is clear frustration among PSG fans over the 22-year-old's decision not to sign a new contract with the club considering that he is in the final nine months of his deal, and has thus far refused to put pen-to-paper on a new deal, despite the desire of president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to see him extend.

The club management rejected two offers from Real Madrid for Mbappe in the summer transfer window, with the Los Blancos reportedly even offering the French giants a fee in the excess of £170million for his services.

It is no secret that it has been a dream of Mbappe's to play for Madrid, and it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out considering that PSG will not want to let him leave for free next summer.
