Footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with a commemorative ‘G.O.A.T 770’ shirt by Juventus chairman, Andrea Agnelli to celebrate his 770th career goal after going past Brazil legend, Pele's official figure last week.
Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in last weekend’s 3-1 win at Cagliari to move clear of Pele’s record of 767 career goals, though there is still confusion on who holds the all-time goalscoring record considering that Josef Bican is recorded to have scored 805 goals between the 1930s and 1950s.
Some sources claim that Pele scored over 1200 goals during his career, though the number of 767 is considered to be the official number. There is no dispute over Ronaldo's numbers though, with the majority of his goals coming for Real Madrid as he left the club as their all-time record goalscorer with 450 to his name.
He had previously scored 118 for Manchester United and currently has netted 95 goals for Juventus along with 102 for Portugal with the striker currently closing in on the Iranian Ali Daei's record of 109 - the most ever in men's international football.
Ronaldo has led the Bianconeri to two successive Serie A titles but has failed in Europe, with the club still searching for their first Champions League honour since 1996.
